Protection from Harm? Even from Covid-19?

Psalm 91 talks about being protected from the hazards of war and life and deadly pestilence.Verse 1 says that if you live with God, you will also be able to rest with Him. God will be your fortress, verse 2. It seems to be speaking in general terms of the righteous.

“For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler,
And from the deadly pestilence. ”
Psa 91:3

It goes on to say that God will cover you with His wings. His faithfulness will be “your shield and rampart.” You will not need to be afraid.

“5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day;
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.”
Psa 91:5-6

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand. You will only look at the people getting their dues, because you have trusted in God and not in men, verse 9.

No evil shall happen to you,
Neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.”
Psa 91:10

Angels will guard you!

“For he will give his angels charge over you,
To guard you in all your ways.”
Psa 91:11

This breath of description surely includes things like virus, corona-viruse, and bacteria. Verse 2 says, “I will say of Yahweh,” but it does not tell us who the author is. Then it says in verse 3, “For he will deliver you,” “He will cover you,” and so on. Is this speaking of a particular person? Who is this “you”?

Then we see that the devil quotes
this psalm of the Christ.

“5 Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, ‘He will give his angels charge concerning you.’ and,
‘On their hands they will bear you up,
So that you don’t dash your foot against a stone.’””
Mtt 4:5-6

When the devil is wrong in Mtt 3:3, Jesus corrects him. Here He seems to acknowledge this truth, but says,

“Again, it is written, ‘You shall not test the Lord, your God.’”
Mtt 3:7

So Jesus answers the devil as it was true, but that men should not put God to the test, as it says in Deut 6:16.

Is this only about Jesus?

That would be an easy thing to argue. Then on the other hand look at many other Scriptures which argue for God’s care for believers, both in the Old and New Testaments. I am not talking about unqualified safety, but God’s care for His faithful ones. Notice what David says:

“The angel of Yahweh encamps round about those who fear him,
And delivers them.”
Psa 34:7

Is that a lie? A Scripture that failed? (cf Jn 10:35) Jesus says that children’s angels always have access to God to plead their cause, Mtt 18:10. And Heb 1:13-14 says looking after Christians is the job of angels.

Keys to Prophecy: God Can And Does Often Direct Our Thinking

We are but creatures and are by no means omnipotent. I have heard many preachers say that God would never violate our “free will” as they put it. He will never “make us” do something. What foolishness. The truth is that He makes us do or say or think things everyday, that we had no intention of doing or saying. God often overrules us.

Actually many may manipulate our thinking.

Including moms and dads, and “friends,” and announcers and ads. Because of the limitations on our earthly life and our knowledge, we from time to time become the victims of counsel that at best misguided, or at worst is manipulative. Sometimes even from those we love, and who also love us. And Satan! He can do such things,

“After supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,”
Jn 13:2

And of Mystery Babylon the Great, it says

“… for with your sorcery all the nations were deceived.”
Rev 18:23

So here is a human entity, which by “sorcery,” can alter the thinking, manipulate/deceive the entire world at some future time. (You don’t suppose God actually foresaw modern mass media do you? I jest!).

So do you suppose that “many” can and do “manipulate” our thinking: mom, dad, friend, announcer, ad, movie, Satan … and God could not, would not?

God can and does influence the thinking of men.

It is both and little things and big things. God speaks of what He will do to His people in foreign lands, if they are not faithful to Him.

““‘As for those of you who are left, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword; and they will fall when no one pursues.””
Lev 26:36

God can help us, or if we oppose God, He can harden us in bad thinking.

“But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him; for Yahweh your God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into your hand, as at this day.”
Deut 2:30

And so it will be even with God’s enemies
(Rev 17:13-14) near the end.

Mystery Babylon the Great has near the end deceived the nations and come to commercially dominate the world, ruining the nations with wars and sexual immorality in order to better exploit men (Revelation 18). She deserves to be punished, but she is too powerful to resist.

So God puts together a coalition of ten kings (“horns,” see for instance Dan 8:20-21), who for “one hour” had the resources to destroy Mystery Babylon all the way down the ground.

“For God has put in their hearts to do what he has in mind, and to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God should be accomplished.”
Rev 17:17

Keys to Prophecy: There is More Than One Wide Spread Tribulation.

It is sometimes missed but there are actually several periods of extreme trouble in the Christian Age. This is the way Paul describes the issues.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
2Tim 3:1 KJV

It is not just a single perilous or difficult or harsh time, but perilous timeS, plural.

Russia, China, and Eastern Europe had an anti-Christian
blood baths in the 20th century,
France in late 18th century.

There have been multiple attempts to bull-doze away Christianity and prepare the way for the worship of Satan and his special seed. Rome and the caesars were so used, until Christianity outright conquered Rome, as in Dan 2:44, and other passages. Islam was used in this way. The French Revolution was another attempt, and was intended to spread from nation to nation, but didn’t have the impact desired. The Communists also attempted world revolution, and did conquer one-third of the world before imploding. Communism still shows some lingering signs of life even in the United States in the early 21st century, and many of the old Communist organizations now seem to want to carry a banner of environmental emergencies to drive the destruction of any who might oppose them.

It seems from Scripture that two special times of tribulation/stress will come.

One is the times of stress in when the Jews turn
to Rabbi Jesus of Nazareth in faith.

And yes, Jesus is called “Rabbi” some thirteen times in the gospels, but it is sometimes translated as “Master” of “Teacher.”

It is clearly prophesied in the Old Testament that this will happen, and is verified in the New Testament, but many gloss over the texts. Moses, after denouncing the stubbornness and sins of Israel, is the first to announce it.

Coming in September, 2020, Jewish Chronicles will be an overview of Jewish history and Scripture as it pertains to these things.

When you are in distress, and all these things are come on you, in the latter days you shall return to Yahweh your God, and listen to his voice:”
Deut 4:30 nf

This will be an extreme period stress for many nations. It appears to begin with a world-wide persecution of Christians. It is dealt with in detail in Ezekiel 37 and 38, and Zechariah, and also in my forthcoming book, Jewish Chronicles. It will be so severe that is seems it will become yet another “type,” symbolic of the end of this present universe.

The greatest tribulation will be right at the end.

It is literally called “the great, the tribulation” in Greek.

… “These are those who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood.”
Rev 7:14 WEB

This time Christianity will be “overcome”/conquered.

“It was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him. ”
Rev 13:7 WEB

The Greek word is nikao, to conquer, to overcome, to have the victory.

Never yet has any one government had authority over every nation. Never yet has Christianity been “overcome” world-wide. But it will happen, for a short while … just before Jesus intervenes.

Keys to Prophecy: Revelation Applies to the ENTIRE Christian Age.

The principal powers at work during the Christian Age are the same throughout. They are:

Jesus of Nazareth, the One and Only
Son of God

He is ignored by most, but He is indeed Lord of Lords and King of kings, Rev 19:16. He is THE major power of the Christian Age. He is a conquerer!

“And behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow. A crown was given to him, and he came forth conquering, and to conquer.”
Rev 6:2 WEB

Jesus has complete authority.

… “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.”
Mtt 28.28 WEB

All authority where? “In heaven and on earth.” As God has operated in the past, so now Jesus rules the nations, and has,

“26 … appointed seasons, and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27 that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”
Acts 17:26-27 WEB

He must reign (presently and continuously) until ALL His enemies are destroyed, 1Cor 15:24-25.

Mystery Babylon the Great

This is a religio-commercial entity. It evidently dominates world trade for the entire Christian Age. It does not control all of it, but it is evidently a central facilitator of world trade. It is pictured in Rev 18:11-13 as selling a little bit of everything, and so rich that “she” drinks out of gold cups, and is extravagantly clothed with gold and jewels in Rev 17:3-4. It says that,

“The kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived wantonly with her, will weep and wail over her, when they look at the smoke of her burning,”
Rev 18:9 WEB

She is the arranger of wars and conflicts on earth. Why? To make money out of those conflicts. It says,

“In her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth.”
Rev 18:24 WEB

What a staggeringly comprehensive statement!

And she rides the Satanic dragon that has seven heads and ten horns, Rev 17:3! She rides the Mystery of Lawlessness, the seldom noticed “beast” organization of Rev 13:1-2, of which there are seven “heads,” directors.

The Mystery of Lawlessness

The mystery of lawlessness is a much smaller organization than Mystery Babylon the Great, and is opposed to Mystery Babylon, but also allows itself to be used for her purposes. It is a very highly leveraged satanic organization, a dragon (compare Revelation 12), and is already in operation in the first century, 2Thes 2:7. It is guided by a directory of seven men/kings, and it directs ten centers of power. It hates the harlot, and before the end will destroy her at God’s instigation, Rev 17:16-17.

None of the these powers are absolute, except Jesus the Christ. The others plot and plan and coerce as best they can, and have whatever triumphs God allows. In history they have both many victories and many dismal defeats. In worldly terms they are intimidating, but they are doomed from the start.

Keys to Prophecy: The Mystery of Lawlessness is an age long entity.

It was already in existence in the first century
of our present age.

It is evidently literally a mystery in the ancient Greek sense. That is to say that it is secret or semi-secret religion whose teaching are kept secret from the public. Sometimes such religions had a public presence, but at other times were completely secret, even in their very existence. There have been many such religions since ancient times, and to quote the dictionaries, they tended to be “relig. and political in nature,” A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature, Arndt and Gringrich, The University of Chicago Press, 1957, pg 531-532.

The Mystery of Lawlessness is evidently the same thing
as the beast organization in Rev 13:1-3.

Then one of the heads of the beast-organization, becomes “the beast” (Rev 13:3) / “the man of lawlessness (2Thes 2:8). This man of lawlessness, this beast, is worshipped by the entire world, Rev 13:4 and 2Thes 2:4, 9-12.

This is evidently a Satanic mystery religion, and Scripture clearly indicates that it both cooperates with Mystery Babylon the Great at times, and also competes with and opposes Mystery Babylon the Great at times. Paul says in the first century of our age that,

“For the mystery of lawlessness already works. …”
2Thes 2:7a WEB

It was already in existence and has worked for over 2,000 years.

The purpose of the Mystery of Lawlessness is:

“3 … the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.”
2Thes 2:3b-4 WEB

This is basically the same as is described in Revelation 13. There it says,

“It was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him.”
Rev 13:7 WEB

This is for a relatively short, but terrible times, just before the end of this universe.

The man of lawlessness WAS ready to be revealed
in the first century of our age.

And Paul said to the Thessalonians,

“Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.”
2Thes 2:6 WEB

The Thessalonians knew what was restraining him, but we do not, but he has been being restrained for over 2,000 years, and one day he will be revealed, and there have been continual attempts seat such a man, Christian-Age-long. See the section on “Lab Work,” in Prophecy Principles.

And he will be destroyed by the Second Coming of Jesus Christ (2Thes 2:8, Rev 19:20).

Thus the case for the Mystery of Lawlessness is the most straight forward of all.

So these are powers which Christians of every age
have had to contend..

The same is true for that other great age-long enemy of Christianity, Mystery Babylon the Great. It is evidently in existence in the first century of our present age, and so will until near the very end of this present universe, and is destroyed by the beast and ten kings, Rev 17:18.

Keys to Prophecy: The World System is in the power of Satan.

Satan is a creature, a creation.

Perhaps one of the most powerful creatures ever made, but still merely a creature, as you and I also are. God made through Jesus everything.

“For by him were all things created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him.”
Col 1:16 WEB

Satan, like us, was created good.

In fact, Scripture says,

“God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. …”
Gen 1:31 WEB

But Satan, again just like us, corrupted his way. He was originally evidently one the living creatures who hovered over the throne of God Himself in heaven, Ezekiel 28. There the king of Tyre is used as a “type,” symbolic of Satan, and it describes him as a beautiful and powerful creature. In Isaiah chapter 14 the king of Babylon seems to be used as a “type,” symbolic, of Satan. It says he aspired to be higher than God, and was cast out of heaven. Isa 14:13-14.

Satan began the revolt, but drew others into this revolt. Rev 12:4 says that he drew one-third of the angels of heaven into his revolt, and was at last thrown down out of heaven, Rev 12:7-10. Also yes, the human race was also drawn into, seduced into, this revolt.

Satan is ALLOWED certain power and rule in this
universe, for a short while.

One popular image of Satan down through history has been the drunken and lecherous “god” Pan, half-man, half-goat, often pictured with horns.

He is called “the god of this world,” 2Cor 4:4 WEB. He is allowed certain power to tempt and to try us, to see what we are. He is called “the accuser of our brothers,” Rev 12:10 WEB. He can offer some rewards to his servants, and with these things he attempted to seduce Jesus the Christ.

“5 The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want. 7 If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.””
Lk 4:5-7 WEB

Jesus corrects Satan when he is wrong, but does not correct this.

“the whole world lies in the power of
the evil one.” 1Jn 5:19

Indeed, we have ALL fallen under these powers.

“However at that time, not knowing God, you were in bondage to those who by nature are not gods.”
Gal 4:8 WEB

We once walked by Satan’s dictates, and sometimes still do. So we are warned to not desire the fruits of a corrupted world that is passing away, 1Jn 2:15-17.

God is willing to protect us.

“ … who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, …”
1Cor 10:13 WEB

The problem is how to come to our senses, and
escape the devil’s snare, 2Tim 2:26

Jesus is that answer, to redeem ourselves in His blood.

Keys to Prophecy: God Commonly Uses Types/Symbols/Parallels

Part of the Problem is the Astonishing Nature
of Many Future Events.

In truth many things in history are astonishing. Who, ahead of time, would have ever believed that the tiny Greek army at Marathon, could ever have defeated the giant Persian army which was meeting them. The Athenian army numbered a mere 11,000 men. The Persian army is estimated to have been as much as 65,000 men. In normal military terms three to one odds means you will almost automatically lose. Six to one odds? It is almost unbelievable that you could win. And this is verified history. Astonishing!

Or take the Russo-Finnish War at the beginning of World War II. Who would have ever believed that tiny Finland could fight mighty Russia to a standstill? Where other small countries were smashed beneath Russian boots, Finland was able to come out of the war, not conquered, but with a negotiated peace. In ordinary human terms, and in ordinary historical terms, that was an impossibility. However, it happened, and that is verifiable history.

Also, both of these examples are astonishing things happening in history, and in theory, without the influence of an All Powerful God intervening! Or were they? Remember Scripture says,

“The horse is prepared for the day of battle;
But victory is with Yahweh.”
Prov 21:31 WEB

Actually astonishing things happen happen all the time, and we hear or see of them in news, but it only if it linked to an Almighty God that we are not supposed to believe it.

Many coming events will be so astonishing that it is difficult to communicate these things to us

So Scripture again and again uses symbolism, and parallels to teach about things we would otherwise have difficulty understanding or believing. How do you describe God when He literally comes to see us in the flesh! They were told He would be like Moses in many ways, like David, like Solomon, like a passover lamb, and so forth.

Or the secretive merchant intrigues which dominate
kings and nations of the Christian age?
Mystery Babylon the Great.

Revealing the Christian Age talks in detail Mystery Babylon the Great as religio-political-business entity.

How do you communicate what “she” is like, and how “she” operates?

“She” is like ancient Babylon, she is like the merchant empire of Tyre in Old Testament times. She is like ancient Rome. She is a rich and nasty whore. She is said to be a mystery religion, with which the ancients were well acquainted. (See previous posts on the mystery religions.) She foments conflicts and wars in order to make more money, and all the blood shed on the earth is in her, Rev 18:24.

And when the embodiment of Satan is worshipped
by all the earth?

He will be like the Caesars, like King Ahab of Israel, like Antiochus IV Epiphanes of the Selucid Empire. He will be like a living/corpse idol.

And the end of this present world?

Noah and his sons act on those things they are told.

It will be like it was the days of Noah. It will be like just before Sodom and Gommorah were destroyed. It will be like the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD (read Josephus accounts of this war).

Multiple Types of the beast: Judas Iscariot

Jesus answered them, “Didn’t I choose you, the twelve,

“and one of you is a devil,” Jn 6:70 WEB

The Greek word used here is diabolos. Its basic meaning is to slander or falsely accuse someone, and is often translated as “devil,” meaning the Satan himself or one of his angels (Mtt 25:41). It comes from the Greek word diabello which has the idea of bringing false charges in order to create a quarrel or a fight.

He is one who has rich gifts from God.

Everything good, everything worthwhile, comes from God, Jas 1:17.

“For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn’t receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
1Cor 4:7 WEB

The Most Holy God made both you and I, but also all the angels, and everything that exists, and Judas Iscariot, and the man of lawlessness. Whatever good that is in him came from God, and whatever good he has also is from God.

In the case of Judas Iscariot he shared in the blessings of Christ with the rest of the apostles. When the apostles were sent on the limited commission Judas was there. When they returned rejoicing that “even the demons are subject to us,” Lk 10:17 WEB, Judas was there. Power to preach, power to heal, daily needs all covered … it was all there.

But a heart prepared with greed.

In whatever combination of circumstances, Judas had a love of money that was part of his undoing. So when some expensive oinment was poured over Jesus feet, Judas asked.

“5 “Why wasn’t this ointment sold for three hundred denarii,a and given to the poor?” 6 Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the money box, used to steal what was put into it.”
Jn 12:5-6 WEB

Characterized by destructive behavior

Oh to have been an actual apostle of Jesus the Christ, to have the opportunity for such a great standing in all eternity. Judas had all of this but was focused on worldly immediate things.

Jesus calls Judas “the son of destruction,” Jn 17:12 WEB, and the man of lawlessness/ the man of sin is also called “the son of destruction,” 2Thes 2:3 WEB (the same Greek word is used in both Scriptures). Both have destructive behavior. They destroy themselves, and bring ruin on many others. If we use Judas as a type of the beast, then there is,

Not quite repentance, but clear remorse, Mtt 27:3.

“4 saying, “I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? You see to it.” 5 He threw down the pieces of silver in the sanctuary, and departed. He went away and hanged himself.”
Mtt 27:4-5 WEB

And eternally cursed.

Terrifying curses are in Psa 69:19-28 of Judas and the others involved. I will only quote a verse.

“Pour out your indignation on them.
Let the fierceness of your anger overtake them”
Psa 69:24

I am inclined to take these verses of the beast also.

Multiple Types of the beast: the Man of Lawlessness

Admittedly the man of lawlessness is not actually a type of the beast. Rather it another description of the beast, and another name for the beast.

There is a variation here between versions
and manuscripts on the name.

Some of our oldest manuscripts show the reading of man of “lawlessness” (anomias). This the preferred reading by most scholars today, and this matches with calling this organization the “mystery of lawlessness” in verse 7. The alternate reading is man of “sin” (hamartia). If we take the reading “man of lawlessness” as being correct, that means this man is characterized by lawlessness, and of course, “Sin is lawlessness,” 1Jn 3:4

A great rebellion must come first.

The Greek word is apostasia, and is actually a very strong word for a rebellion or a “defection” or desertion of one’s obligations to someone or thing. Liddell and Scott’s Greek-English Lexicon. Oxford, 1889, a lexicon of Classical Greek, lists the primary reading as “1. a defection, revolt.” It is a word for what we would call a political revolution, or an attempt to overthrow. Implied in both Revelation and 2Thessalonian 2 is that this is a world-wide phenomena that takes in “all” of the lost of this world, 2Thes 2:10-11, Rev 13:8.

In English this word apostasia has been watered down in some of the older Greek dictionaries, translations and commentaries. This word is much stronger than just “falling away,” or a “departure.” It has the idea in context of shaking your fist in the face of God. The newer dictionaries/lexicons are going back to the old Classical definition, and the watering down was never justified.

There is going to be a world-wide rebellion against God and against all law and order before the man of lawlessness comes. This has to happen BEFORE the the second coming of Christ, 2Thes 2:2-3.

This man is against the worship of ANYTHING or
ANYONE except himself.

“he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.”
2Thes 2:4 WEB

He is brought to power by a “mystery of lawlessness”
that has been working since the
first century, 2Thes 2:7.

See the previous posts about the mystery religions. So this is a multi-melenia struggle to seat this servant of Satan (Rev 13:2-3) as the true “god” of this world.

There is someone or thing who is restraining this mystery, to keep it from having success, until just the right time, 2Thes 2:6.

“even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.”
2Thes 2:9 WEB

God also helps this man succeed, so that all
who “didn’t believe the truth but had
pleasure in unrighteousness,”
would be lost.
2The 2:12

“Because of this, God sends them a working of error, that they should believe a lie;”
2Thes 2:11 WEB

This man is destroyed by the Second
Coming of Christ.
2Thes 2:8, Rev 19:20.

Multiple Types of the beast: Pharaoh of the Exodus

The oppression of Israel began out of fear.

Political fear of these “outsiders” taking over their country, or siding with their enemies. So the Pharaoh said,

“Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we.”
Ex 1:9 WEB

So a Egypt far less populous that even in later ancient times, oppressed God’s people and “set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens,” Ex 1:11 WEB. The purpose was not just to use them for labor, but indeed to ruin them with hard labor and oppression. Often in history political fears drive religious oppressions, with genocidal results. Then God sent Moses to secure their release.

It has been briefly discussed in posts on Identifying Types, that the wilderness wanderings are typical (symbolic) of the Christian life, with the Red Sea finally separating Israel from the Egypt of this world. That means: that Egypt is symbolic of this world, and then the Pharaoh is symbolic of the “god of this world,” 2Cor 4:4.

The beast in Revelation 13 is trying to unite a one-world government, with a single religious focus on himself, as the true god of this world! Christians then become obstacles to the political unification of this world. This is indeed like the ancient Caesars as “gods,” but what is pictured in Revelation is far more complete and thorough than anything done in ancient times, and “All who dwell on earth will worship him,” Rev 13:8, even all who are not written in the book of life. The phony man/god will make war on the saints and overcome them, Rev 13:7. However neither ancient Rome nor the caesars ever overcame the church.

Similarly, Pharaoh did overcome and enslave Israel in ancient Egypt.

God’s people are to have their spokesmen.

It was Moses in ancient Egypt. It is the two witnesses in Revelation 11. It seems an attempt is made in both cases to bring this arrogant king to reason. The pattern seen over and over again, is that Moses bargains for freedom for Israel, the Pharaoh responds with greater oppressions, and God responds with increasingly harsh strokes on the beast and his kingdom.

Moses turns the waters of the Nile into blood. The two witnesses “have power over the waters, to turn them to blood,” Rev 11:6. “A great mountain burning with fire” is thrown into the sea and turns it to blood in Rev 8:8 WEB.

Repeatedly the Pharaoh ALMOST relents.

Pharaoh’s servants repeatedly plea “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve Yahweh,” Ex 10:7. There was frogs, darkness, locusts, hail, and boils on all the people. All of these things have their equivalent in Revelation. At one point the Pharaoh even says,

… “I have sinned this time. Yahweh is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.”
Ex 9:27 WEB

But the Pharaoh of Egypt will never let
repentance stick.

So in the end he has to be broken and destroyed, when he goes to fight directly against God.
